LifeConnect
A blood-donation platform developed through Youth Red Cross.
Problem and context
LifeConnect addresses the coordination problem of connecting people seeking blood donations with prospective donors. It was developed through Youth Red Cross technical work at Velammal Engineering College, alongside volunteering and community activities.
The software contribution and wider service work are related but distinct. A platform can organize requests and donor information; medical outcomes depend on people and institutions beyond the application.
My contribution and implementation
I contributed through my YRC technical role. The historical project describes a team-built application with blood-request submission, donor management, notification workflows, and administrator oversight.
The recorded stack includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, Python, MongoDB, REST APIs, and email/SMS integration. These describe the historical application account, rather than an independently audited live service.
Workflow
The application separates donor information from requests and includes administrator verification and notification steps. Those are coordination responsibilities: collecting information, helping identify prospective donors, and supporting human follow-up.
Awareness and registration activities conducted by the YRC team form part of the community context. They do not establish that every request was matched or fulfilled.
Evidence and limitations
The archived page preserves the original project account and source-code link. No donor count, successful-match count, hospital integration guarantee, or emergency-service reliability claim is carried forward here. LifeConnect is presented as a technical service project, not an emergency medical service.
